THE POOR MAN'S BOSTON WHALER
DESCRIPTION
The Boston Whaler was originally designed as a catamaran but, because of the difficulty of designing good power cats, was changed to a 'cathedral' hull. FISHCAT is a power cat that works! Well designed power cats are 20-30% more efficient than mono-hulls, and Fishcat, with only 25 hp, will scoot! She will feel like she is doing 60 without needing a large gas hungry motor to do it. (This boat was not designed to save folks from the ravages of poor judgment; the hull is not stressed for higher horse power.) She was designed specifically as a fishing platform, and you can easily stand on the deck between the hulls for casting and visibility. In addition I use mine for sunning, sight seeing and of just lazing. I have fished everything from small mountain lakes to Oregon river bars in my Fishcat with utmost confidence. Like all Bolger boats she attracts attention wherever she goes and while I can't say for sure that she increased my catch, but one day on the coast, Jim and I caught so many Big salmon . . . In the rough stuff standing in one of the hulls provides security and two anglers both with heavy fish on the same side of the boat won't cause any anxiety about flipping over. While under way sitting on the deck with your feet in the hull is both comfortable and a great position for sight seeing.
